This is my friend Aaron Greene's 1966 Pontiac Superior combination hearse/ambulance. He lives over in Uniontown Ohio. It's a very nice old coach & stunning in person. Also... this is probably the ONLY Superior you'll ever see with Tri-Power carbs!!! Last pic is of our "parking lot rebuild" of his driveshaft carrier bearing during our recent caravan run to the Flint Michigan PCS hearse/ambulance meet.

This beauty is actually a combination hearse/ambulance that was purchased used by the utility company. Note the removable "ambulance" inserts in the rear side windows, as well as the single (demountable) roof light.

She would look great with curtains and fender skirts in place as well as correct-size whitewall tires (the ones on the car are too small).

Keep 'em comin', my friend...!

Steve,

Do you know where this served when new and where it was assigned when owned by Buckeye?

Was this pic taken while it was owned by the first owner? It says Germantown Rescue on the side door glass.

The photo was taken in July of 2005 at the Germantown, Ohio muster. The owner was at another function and had someone else bring the ambulance to the muster. I believe I was told that the owner was a doctor who lived near Germantown.

A very rare picture of one of the FD's Pontiacs. The CFD bought 10 Pontiac Superiors under the "Model Cities" grant program. The program ran out of funding in 1972.

What’s that blue, police looking vehicle behind the ambulance?

That's an old IH Chicago PD prisoner transport vehicle. CPD used them for a few tasks back then, including body removals.
