Pierce Apparatus Through 1989

Squad 546:

No, it's not. I also should have been more specific, saying it was the only Crown snorkel sold new in Illinois.

The Crown snorkel in Crown Point has a different history; if you go to this link:

http://www.crownisking.org/cssnohomish.html

you'll get some shots of the rig as delivered to Snohomish, Washington, and after its sale to Crown Point.

The Crown is King website is great, as the owner is trying to document every rig they built with photos and dispositions-with photos if possible!

Have a good one.

Thanks, I had no idea there was a Crown sold originally to Illinois.

And as an additional bonus, this photo and info about the Morita aerial ladder was on the inside:
And the manual that Chicago got with that rig, was mostly in Japanese.

Two corrections: The top apparatus is equipped with a 55' Hi-Stream device, not a Tele-Squrt. The second rig has a Tele-Squrt, but it's 50', not 55'. The Tele-Squrt was manufactured in four sizes - 35', 50', 65' and 75'.
