While looking at the daily runs, I saw / heard several dispatches for EMS assists. Is this a new policy?

As a veteran, retired FF from a large urban city who witnessed initial the wear and tear of apparatus once responding to first responder calls were initiated, the overtime money issue may become secondary once the overall costs ( fuel, EMS supplies, maintenance) are calculated. I am not sure if this is a "test" to show city hall the effects due to the recent comments on the private ambulance service or not....time will tell....

Looks like the EMS first responder calls have been scaled back to lift assists. The wear and tear of the equipment on Youngstown streets, as well as the increase in fuel and supplies costs was an easy decision with the loss of an engine and demotions to 9 FFs in these tough budget times.....
