Fire was in Detroit, right on the Highland Park border. Highland Park and DFD arrived on the scene at the same time, HP went to work manning handlines. (I learned from the HP Fire Chief they have a Sutphen platform on order to go with there new fire station that should open in August). Not a second alarm, special call for extra companies.

One fire fighter is still in the hospital, one has been released.
Thanks for the update, I think the guy on the ground took more of a beating then the one on the ladder.

A real surprise to see Highland Park on mutual aid to Detroit instead of the other way around. Was this fire just a box alarm with extra companies? Nice pics as always Dan.

This fire was a box alarm with special call for additional companies. Highland Park was called to the scene, their fire chief (Chief 3) was made the safety officer.

It even made the NBC Nightly News that night. Any word on the engine that caught fire? I think they said it was Engine 27.
