Well, the traffic on the street has thinned out, so I ran back to the muster site to see what I could scrounge up. We'll shoot 4 more at our remote site before we come cack down to finish up on the muster grounds.

While I was at the muster site I found 2 Fox pistons that were tearing down their pumping operations. I spoke with about coming down to the field for a photo op for us. While I was waiting I snapped this 1946 International from Manchester, MD.
I also got:
X - Detroit, MI
Boat Tender
1921 Ahrens-Fox
Hi Pressure Wagon
Model J 13

This is the other Fox that followed the Hagerstown rig up from the muster site. What were the odds that in the summer of 2012 we would shoot consecutively numbered Ahrens-Fox Piston Pumpers on the same day? BTW, it's the Newport, KY rig up near the top of page 1.

Another one we flagged down on a drive by and the last one we shot at this nice field. Now it's back to the muster site to see what we can do since it's thinned out quite a bit.

Time is running out as the sun is dropping lower & lower. Owners are headed out to get ready for the banquet & we get turned down by a couple of Fox Pistons. While trying to get a few more we got this one:

X- Reed City, MI

The last one for Saturday. This rig is from my mom's hometown & I really wanted this one. Box 2565 & I had photographed Kokomo's 1935 Model N-D Fox Piston in 1982 at an event for the Cincinnati Chili Festival. The FD mechanic, Joe, who brought it down, invited us up to Kokomo to see the other Fox. Joe drove us around in a 1956 Segrave aerial and we wound up at his house where this 1915 was stored in his garage. It was buried pretty well and we didn't get any pics. I never thought that I would see it outside & running again. This was a tough get today because they had burnt the points in the parade & it wasn't running the best. They moved it over for us & burnt the points again. That required another field repair before he moved it again for a shot of the other side. After we were done they had some difficulty getting it up on their transport vehicle. But, it made it back home OK & I was able to email the photos to them. Unfortunately are old friend Joe has since passed away, but the 1956 Segrave he drove us around in is owned by the same club that owns this 1915 Fox Piston.

All in all a great way to end the day.

The K-2's did not have booster tanks, but during its career it tangled with a streetcar. During the repairs a booster tank was added.

As we leave to go to our dinner at Tiffany's there are still around 40 pieces of apparatus on the muster field. We will try & get some more on Sunday morning as they head for home.

You Know, that big Chevrolet emblem on the front should have been my first clue. Sensory overload-Brain Freeze. I will change it. Thanks.
