Adams, Massachusetts operated this chemical & hose combination.  The body looks like it could easily have been built by a "real" apparatus builder, but who?  I sure wouldn't want to get the ground ladders down from this one!

Photo from Adams F.D. web site.

Their website says it is a 1918 Federal.
Lots of photos on their site @:

New Marlborough, MA Rescue 1 1988 Ford/Medtec 4x4 by Quigley This was an AWESOME RIG! When it was traded in in 2000 it was likely going over to Kuwait. Served as a QRS unit from 88-93 and BLS Transport from 93-2000.

This badge is a real gem.  It was made for the Chief of the Astoria F.D.  Could this have been in Queens before FDNY came into the picture?
That's cool I am sitting in Astoria on my honeymoon, we are staying a few blocks down from E-262/L-117. With the way the different parts of Queens seem to have tried to keep their distintive IDs I would say this is most likely a pre-FDNY badge.

An earlier post had a post card of this great firehouse in Lee, MA - sometime I'll re-shoot it in better conditions.

Great thread guys! Got me thinking  ???  ::) which if it (me thinking) doesn't cause a fire, it causes a question or 2.

Do any deptartments still issue fire line badges as regular pratice?
Paul, can I share file of the New Haven Badge you posted with the CT Fire Photographers?

Odd and Unusual Rigs / Re: Massachusetts brushbreaker

Out here in Berkshire County we run more of a brush truck type truck as our terrain is much more rocky and hilly. Here's my FD's (New Marlborough) Brush 6 has a 125 gpm/300 gallon water skid unit and hand tools in the bed. 1983 GM

Wellesley, Massachusetts - no other info available.
Doug Boudrow for out your way owns this one...he has it most back in really good looking shape.
Here's the photo he sent me of it - I don't think he'd mind me sharing it. He also sent me some in service pics of "Alice" if anyone is interested I'll post them too.
