Title: Freightliner chassis fire apparatus
Post by: Engine33Truck on December 10, 2010, 12:43:22 AM
Freightliner in the 1990s seems to have went around to fire stations and did a great deal of sales.  In Fayette County, WV where I'm from, Freightliner chassis rigs are more popular than any other chassis fire apparatus.   In Mineral County and the surrounding Allegany Co. MD, Hampshire Co. WV, and Morgan Co. WV they seem to be very popular.

Anyone that has pictures of FL-series fire apparatus are more than welcome to post them here.  :D

Also, theres another 1994-1998 Freightliner/E-One behind her, owned by Mount Hope, WV.

Note, there are several others in the area, and I know where pictures are of the two that Ansted VFD runs and Meadow Bridge VFD's engine/tanker.  The only problem is getting permission to post them here.

I know nothing about this rig, I couldn't find a soul in the station, but by looking at the body and the pump, I'd guess that it's either a 1250/1000 or a 1250/1250

Interesting paint job on the Weir Engine 4!

Very unique indeed. From my understanding, Engine 2 will soon have the same paint scheme to match their fleet. Both E2 & E4 were purchased used from Kyle and West I 10 departments respectively. I do not know from which each one came from each department.

I was wondering if they planned on getting rid of Engine 2's oddball paint scheme.  Don't get me wrong, fire trucks should be RED, but it's a pet peeve of mine when one or two trucks don't match the rest of the fleet, LOL.  Also, do you have a pic of that sweet looking M2 in the background of Engine 4's pic?

The shot of it behind E4 was a tease. I agree fire trucks should be red and I believe it would look even better red.

This was a tag-on to the Parker County contract.  There were around 30 of these sold, most of which went to Parker County departments.
