To my knowledge Rankin. Pa. never ran a Seagrave. I remember this Pierce, a Pierce/Hendrickson, 2 different ALF's, a Chevy/Grumman and an older GMC which was turned into a salt truck.

There are other towns named Rankin around the country, but Rankin, PA never ran any Seagraves. Being this is my Department, we ran:

1914 Stegeman engine (first motorized)
1927 American La France 1000gpm (Type 45?)
1946 Studebaker/ American 500gpm engine (served until 1975-1976)
1958 GMC/ American (served until 1980, then became Boro salt truck for snowstorms)
1949 Mack L (bought off of Baldwin #1, served 1976 until 1982-83)
1960 American LaFrance 900 series (bought from Hanover, PA, served 1980-1986)
1983 Chevrolet/ Grumman 1000gpm (bought new, served until 1997 then sold)
1985 Chevrolet Suburban squad unit (in service from 1985, now serves as an "errand" unit)
1961 American LaFrance 900 series (bought from Mt. Lebanon, served from 1987-2004 or 05)
1977 Pierce/ Hendrickson 1250gpm (bought from Palos, IL, in-service from 1998-2005)
2005 Pierce Saber 1500gpm-current Engine 238, what a rig!
198? Chevrolet as Service/Squad 238, bought from North Braddock VFD#2

My mistake, thank you for the correction.  I was probably thinking of another Rankin and got it mixed up with Rankin, PA.

Dayton, OH  L-11
Montgomery Co.
07 / 2009 Pierce Arrow XT
2000/ 300 / 100'
# 21735
W.O. 10099633

A pretty close, but no cigar portrait of Dayton's newest addition to the fleet.
I was trying to jockey this beast into position after a staff meeting at Co. 2
A run interupted the event, but I did get the "Proof of Life" shot.
This was a Pierce demo rig that entered service sometime in 2010.
