On January 2, of this year, the City of New Kensington Redevelopement Authority purchased this 1981 American LaFrance Century.  It originally servd as Engine 61 of the F.D.N.Y. in the Bronx.  It was bought and refurbed by PA Fire Apparatus.  It served as Engine 6-1 in Biglerville, PA in Adams County.  On Sunday January 22 it was brought west to be serviced and inspected before being placed in service as Engine 6 out of Station No. 1.
