Links to the Apparatus Manufacturer Logos and the Delivery Lists have been added back to the forums.
Steve I love all the ALF pics you have posted. I hope you have and post many, many more. And I hope you find the Century delivery list. I have always wanted to see the delivery list from the 700 to the Century.
Southport, NY had a similar 1978 Century 1250/750 as Engine 1432. They also had a 1972 Ward LaFrance Ambassador with a 1000 gallon tank. The Engine 1431 you posted has a Ward LaFrance pump panel. It may be a refurb. This was Engine 38, one of 8 ALF Century pumpers purchased by the AFD between 1983 and 1985. For the most part, they were identical except the yellow one that went to Hartsfield airport (Station 24). Note the smaller jumpseat window. Aside from FDNY, I haven't seen too many like that. All of the AFD rigs (4 TDA's too.) had the same style window.x-Engine 4, Woodlawn FD, Blasdell, NY. Sold to Harrison, AR. Engine 2 was running a nearly identical (no LDH reel) 1980, #6907, sold to Dilley, TX. Woodlawn has a Blasdell mailingaddress, but is located in the Town of Hamburg.
I'll bet the maintenance guys requested that (flat glass) for ease of replacement.
"Southport, ??/?Diesel/?Engine 1431(note horizontal discharge handles, and what appears to be an aluminum pump module...possibly not an ALF pump?)"Southport, NY had a similar 1978 Century 1250/750 as Engine 1432. It may be a refurb. This rig looked familiar: in 1994 the R,W,&BT VFD (Robertsdale, Wood, and Broad Top, Huntingdon Co.,PA.) got this 1984 ALF/72 WLF 1250/1000, which it ran like this for 8 years. In 2002, it was sent to Curry Supply in Curryville,PA. (Blair Co.) where it was combined with their 1989 4-Guys 1800 gal. body to make a unique engine-tanker.1994 photo by WW Jenkins1976 Chevy C-65/89 4-Guys 450/1800.
