it is so sad, to see these nice old fire houses empty and run down.
they need to use them for something good for the area's there in.

I had heard that Headquarters was being sold.  Has anyone else heard anything along those lines?

Yes I heard the samething and I believe that the University of Detroit-Mercy law school will be m oving into the building.

As you know they are in the process of making one of the former Detroit tempory casinos in a combined fire/police headquarters.

I think it's a different old firehouse downtown. I recall seeing somewhere that station 2 on Larned was already converted to offices years ago & that is the building. Corner of Larned & St. Antoine, here's an article about it;

Engine 2 was disbanded way back in 1940.    Engine 2 and Squad 1 ran from there, and the building has an unusual layout for a firehouse.   The squad ran from a single bay on Larned Street, and there are two bays for the engine at the rear of the building on St. Antoine Street.

The law school is across the street from the former firehouse, so it makes sense that they would acquire the property.   The building has been on the market for well over a year now.

Engine 48's former quarters on Bayside Street in Southwest Detroit has suffered significant fire damage in a recent blaze.    This house was an outpost for many years, being the only firehouse on the opposite side of the Rouge River, which made 48's district only accessible by drawbridges until the I-75 bridge was built.    A new station on South Fort replaced this firehouse back in 1980, and had been empty for a couple years now.

Is this the house that ran with an Anniversary Series Quad or Quint for many years?

This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions!
What do you mean "biblical"?
What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor. Real wrath of God type stuff! Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness, earthquakes, and volcanos! The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifices, dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!
