Comic Unit
« on: November 27, 2010, 08:07:24 AM »
In the late '40's and the '50's F.D. comic or clown units became popular,
at least in the eastern part of the country. To those of us that enjoy "older"
apparatus sometimes it was painful to see what had been done to some rigs.
But it gave the members the chance to act foolish with an excuse, see the pretty
girls, and maybe collect $10 or so for the Department. Here is an example of an
unidentified  Ford Model T  chemical hose wagon. It is cold weather because folks
are bundled up, notice the steam from the radiator and yes that is what appears
to be a live donkey in the hose bed.

Are you surprised the ass is in the rear?
Nice pic.
Without variety like this a board can get stale.

This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions!
What do you mean "biblical"?
What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor. Real wrath of God type stuff! Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness, earthquakes, and volcanos! The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifices, dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!

Is that a jug of "moonshine" hanging off the back of the ladder?
