Edison, NJ had several White engines in the 1950's and 60's. Attached is a photo of a pair of them. Based on the Ford pick-up in the photo this was taken between 1957 and 1960. I recall these two being in service until the mid 70's but don't know the year of each one. Edison had at least one more White- from TASC-it was newer than these two and had the trademark streamlined cab. All three were in service with Raritan Engine Co 1 for many years. If there is anyone with more information and better pics would appreciate seeing them.

This is my first time posting so I hope I attached the photo correctly so that it can be viewed.

Nice shot - it posted fine.  Community Fire Co  in Franklin Twp also had a white White chassis city service truck built for them.  A photo is at this link http://www.station25.com/index.php?v=history.   You don't happen to have any older Perth Amboy FD photos - if so, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I'd say this was a Charles Beckwith photo; I have several of his shots with a similar background.

Thanks-checked out the photo of the 1946 White at Somerset. Looks to about the same vintage as the White on the left in the Edison photo. I would guess the years for the pair are 1946-1949 for the rig on the left and 1953-56 for the one on the right. Sorry no pictures for Perth Amboy. I did have some additonal pictures from Edison but can't locate them right now. I know I had one of the 3rd White from Engine Co 1 as well as some shots of other makes from the 50-60's from the other companies in Edison. If I can find them I will post in the appropriate areas.

That Pirsch Junior aerial is nice-someone's taken very good care of it.

Concerning Edison-my dad grew up near there, and I seem to recall they had at least one semi-cab White pumper in reserve into the early 1970s.  Is my memory a little on the faulty side?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Bklyn Phil asked me to post these for him as he is having computer problems.  These are shots of a 1929 White, ex-Batlimore Salvage Co #3, taken at the Glasstown Antique Fire Brigade muster in Millville, NJ on 8-18-2013.

A really beautiful machine.  Any idea who put together the body?
