1)Engine 1's 1948 Seagrave-Wyatt, John C.; Lexington Herald-Leader

2)Unknown engine at a barn fire, dated 1929-06-16. Long (Robert J.) and Lafayette Studios employees

3)Firemen demonstrate ladder work for fire school, 6/10/1948. Wyatt, John C.; Lexington Herald-Leader. This is the old training tower at the current training center.

#1 1948 Seagrave #E 810 Model: 66 EB 1000/200 #2 Engine 4 1928 FWD 750 GPM #3 1929 ALF #6507 Type: 117 75' Aerial.  In 1947 the ALF tractor was replaced with a Diamond T.  The aerial survives in that combination.  I believe it is stored at the drill school.

Some old photos from the state archives, most with little info if any.

1) Dated 1929-06-14, credit Long (Robert J.) and Lafayette Studios employees.

2)Engine 6's Seagrave after an accident, 11/22/1949. Wyatt, John C.; Lexington Herald-Leader

3)Mack quad at station 1 dated 1941-06-12.
Great selection of apparatus in these photos.  They are: 1)1922 ALF #3817 Type 14-6 600 GPM - 40 C - 2)1948 Seagrave #E 1001 Model: 66 EB 1000 GPM - 200 Tank - 3)1939 IH/National 750 GPM - Quad.  As far as I'm concerned the '39 IH/National borders on the spectacular!
Thanks for the info! I cant find much info on the quads in Lexington, was this the end of them? I recall Lexington had a Pirsch ladder that had a tele-squrt added to it. Somewhere here on the forums.

Lexington had a 1961 Pirsch quad that had the pump removed and it then ran as a city service truck.  Eventually a new body was fabricated by the shops and the TeleSqurt was added.  This was the last quad purchased by L.F.D.

I recall seeing that at Station 16 running as Aerial 6 in the early '90s.

Lexington replaced Engines 2 & 13, they were parked at the training center this morning. Everyone was busy with a live burn so I didn't get a chance to find out if there are more in-service or on the way.

HA, didn't even notice that until you mentioned it. They probably wouldn't open like they're supposed to. For those wondering, this is the photo in question....

There was a map in the paper yesterday with the stations on a map of Lexington, so here it is, credit to LFUCG. It should be noted several years ago some photogs asked for a map like this and were told it was protected by Homeland Security rules.
