Xenia, OH Fire Trucks. Anybody have any pictures????
« on: February 20, 2010, 04:41:16 PM »
Hello everyone, I was wondering if anybody has any pics of Xenia, OH's yellow fire trucks. I found a video on Youtube of a fire in Downtown Xenia dating back to the 90's. Xenia had some sweet looking rigs back in the day! Heres the link  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzU3MBT1z_o
Thanks in advance.

their is a tv  report used a lot by the weather channel about the large tornando  from years ago  . I have it copied  for  training , but your local news papers  or tv stations  may still have papers  or  microfish  of the exvent  and you can copy it .   I am sure the city has information as to make and model of apparatus brought  then agin maybe not
and of course their is always the web and even you tube

and the one i use alot is  finding older retired  members  who were in a event ,   one day we were taking pictures of old fire stations and found one  they moved from in 1952  and a old man walked up0and siad what you doing son  i told hom and he said well i dorve the truck up to the new station in 52 ,  we took him to ,lunch and got lots of great old stories
some days  you luck  out   and of course some days you don't . stay alert sw

TRY OHIO HISTORY.ORG OR .COM   I FOUND MANY PHOTOS  OF THE DAMAGE FROM 74  ,  BUT I WILL STILL BET THERE IS A RETIRED  FF, OR BUFF SOMEWHERE WITH A SCRAP BOOK WITH PHOTOS OF THE RIGS  WORKING.
FOR EXAMPLE  I WAS  IN A MILITARY FIRE FIGHTING WEB SITE AND FOUND A ARMY FF  ON LINE  WHO WAS
IN EUROPE WITH A FIRE FIGHTINGN UNIT IN WW2  AND THEY LANDED  D DAY PLUS  AND WE  EMAIL ALOT  KNOW  WHAT ARE THE ODDS  OF FINDING HIM ?    BUT I HAVE LEARNED A GREAT DEAL SW

the other night the weather channel  had a report on  f 5 tornasndos  and there were  three fire fighters but no  rigs   the ff  were wearing red  helmets
would any one know where they were from ?   could be on  disaster assignment

how about web sites fo near by  fiire depts that responded  there may be rigs there in the history section .    EVEN TRY  THE WEATHER CHANNEL
LOCAL TV STATION  . AND HISTORY CHANNEL   ETC

PHILLY HAS  SITE FOR ARCHIVE  PHOTOS .  ITS HARD TO UE BUT WHENN YOU FIND SOMETHING WOW  ITS WORTH IT  .   I HAVD MANY OLDER CO'S WITH HORSE DRAWN RIGS OR EARLY CHRISTIE  OR BATTERTY  POWERED  RIGS

I HAVE ALL THE TIME TO SEARCH  AND SAVE    I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO READ THE AFTER ACTION REPORT TO SE  HOW THEY HANDLED  THINGS

WE  ALL HAVE TO BE READY  TO WORK AS A SINGLE  UNIT IN DISASTERS
