If you have a look at these photos you will see that although all of these engines were built in 1980 on a Ford C-series chassis, each has a different body configuration.

I used to operate the Perrysburg truck. You got a good picture of it without the FORD on the front reading DORF. The PERRYSBURG on the ladder was sometimes covered with a TOLEDO EDISON magnet. How does the old saying go, "Idle minds are the devil's workshop?" It was just replaced last year with a Pierce Quantum 100' tower. For what it's worth, the newest ambulance and tower are red.

Seen 3/8/10 sitting beside Hot Springs, NC FD (Madison County, next to the Appalachian Trail).  No room in station as Hot Springs has a new rig.  No equipment on truck.  No one at station, but it may be for sale.  Automatic transmission.  Model SP10R10S, Serial Number 6173, pump number W-1661.  Originally bought by French Broad FD (Buncombe County, NC).

This and the rig in the previous post are interesting indeed...but very "over-chassised!"  Chief Alan Brunacini used a phrase that can be applied here:  "...like using a cement mixer to deliver a pizza!"

Man, you are good & you still got it.  It's always fun to run into a rig that we shot so long ago.
That was one of the few times I ever got my car washed while we took rides in and photographed
apparatus.  We need to do hat trip again sometime.

John Denney Photo & Steve has one that looks just like it!
