Seagrave Apparatus 1990 - 1999
« on: August 21, 2002, 01:59:19 PM »
Sycamore Township in suburban Cincinnati operates 2 of these Seagrave transport engines.  This is the newer of the 2 rigs.  Engine 92 is a 1999 Seagrave with 2000 gpm pump, 750 gallon tank, and a 30 gallon foam tank.

A 5 door cab is on this apparatus which allows for easier access to the EMS transport area in the rear of the crew compartment.

The first of these engines delivered to STFD did not have the extra door at the rear of the cab which made it more difficult to load and unload patients.

Transport by Engine 92 is to Jewish Hospital (just a couple of blocks from the station) and only when there are no ambulance units available for dispatch in the area.

That is a nice looking rig. I can see the reasoning to have that transport part. The only draw back would be seat configuration. How many guys can they get into the back of that rig??

I believe there were 3 seats behind the driver and officer on the rig.  I believe both of the transport engines are going out staffed with 3 ff's on a shift.

This fire district no longer exists.  The City of Mason and Deerfield Township each have their own department now.  Prior to the break up of this district, Truck 852 was sold to Bladensburg, Maryland where it is currently in service.
