Racine Fire department Engine 5 (page 2)

In 1968 the downtown station was closed. Truck 1 moved to the new safety building downtown (with Engine 1, and Rescue 1). Engine 5 and Rescue 2 moved to Marquette street, north of downtown, in Engine 4's old station. Engine 5 remained there until 2005, when they were closed and taken out of service. Rescue 2 in the mid 1990's moved to station 8.

Here are the rigs that served on Marquette Street:

1953 FWD 1000/200 (Sold to Manitowoc, WI. 1976)

1976 Ward LaFrance 1000/500  (reserve 1997 to 2001)

1985 Pirsch 1500/500 (former Engine 7)

1988 Emergancy One 1500/500 (former Engine 1, now reserve)

* Eng 5 1985 Pirsh (x-7).jpg (58.98 kB, 668x418 - viewed 385 times.)
