I havn't seen much of them around anymore!

Here's a ...

1997 Simon-Duplex D8400 Mark II Signature Series with 12' raised cab, seating for 10
with a Saulsbury Cardinal Series 22' stainless-steel walk-through rescue body.

Operated by the Susquehanna Fire & Rescue Company #4, Columbia Pa.

I havn't seen much of them around anymore!

Mainly for two reasons:

They went out of business in 1988.

They were only built between 1986 and 1988.  There just aren't that many of them out there.  Not all that many were produced and many of those are no longer in service.

Duplex chassis were around long before 1986. Wentworth, NH still runs
a 1976 Duplex/Farrar engine. Farrar was a small Massachusetts
fire apparatus builder. Most of their work was on commercial chassis
but when they built on a custom chassis it was usually a Duplex.

Was it in 1986 that Simon of England purchased Duplex? I know that
they owned Duplex for a while until they went out of business.

I don't dispute that at all, but the man asked about Simon-Duplex.  Duplex Truck, in various corporate forms, dates back almost 100 years.  The info I posted did have a typo.....TWICE!  :-[  Simon-Duplex was in business from 1986-1998, not 1988.

1996 Simon-Duplex/2009 Kenco rescue.  Chassis is one of two former Millcreek, DE (Saulsbury?) rescue/pumpers, re-chassied by E-One in 2006.

This looks to be a former US Navy 1984 Duplex D-260/Walter 1000/750/100F pumper.   Walter built 78 of them for the Navy, delivered in 1984, painted lime yellow. An additional 18 pumpers, painted white/red, were delivered to the Marine Corps.  These were the only structural pumpers ever built by Walter.

There is a US Navy tag inside the truck. I could not find and labels to indicate anything other than Duplex. The truck served at the location of the sub station when Rocketdyne was on that location. Thanks for the information.
