From a F.L.A.M.E. postcard, Ft. Lauderdale's 1980 E10 at the Executive Airport, has a HALE single-stage 1000 GPM pump, & was the only one of its kind as of the printing of the postcard.

Any ideas on who did the foam system on the 700/800/900 Series apparatus? The roof turrets, sort of, but not quite, look likke Rockwoods.

What do you mean "biblical"?
What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor. Real wrath of God type stuff! Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness, earthquakes, and volcanos! The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifices, dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!

Sometimes we find what we're looking for by accident.  While reading the January, 1980 issue of FIRE ENGINEERING yesterday I noticed this classified ad from Boeing...mystery solved!

I know toward the end of its career the 900 was assigned to the Allegheny County Airport in West Mifflin, Pa.

A-T-O was the parent corporation of ALF before being renamed Figgie International in 1981.  Since the rig carries A-T-O markings, it wasn't necessarily built in the ALF factory.  I'm not sure what all A-T-O did, but it wasn't just the ALF operation.  I also do not know how many of these rigs were built, but I have a book with a photo of one in it.  It was built into a 250/2500 tanker with Saulsbury bodywork in 1982 and served the Chena-Goldstream FD in Fairbanks, AK as Tanker 42.  The wheelbase in it seems a bit shorter than the one in your photo.

Anybody else check out this guy's trucksplanet.com site? Looks like at least the ALF and Ahrens Fox segments have many photos "right click saved" to that site. I noted Bob Lloyds, Dave Organs' and my own on there, plus many from at least my collection. A lot of it is in Russian,
I'm not at all happy about this, especially from a country whose government is still hostile to this one! Warren Jenkins

At least two of mine were on there (E 33-11, T 33-50), two of the 700s weren't viewable, but I somehow suspect one of them is mine too.    I'm not at all happy about this either.

He sent me an email saying he credited my photos to me, yet so far I haven't seen the credits.  I counted almost over a dozen photos what were posted here by me, you, Warren, Bob, Dave, MGK110, Aaron M, Squad546, and not to mention the tons of Jack Greible and ALF factory photos.

To everybody

I want to say sorry for this problem. Now I have spent 3 hours to check all photos and give copyrights to all American LaFrance photos from your website. The same will be with Ahrens-Fox pictures. I`m not stolen your photos, I`m just trying to make a systematization of all models. It is very difficult to remember who the author of each photo is. Some of photos were saved on my PC 7-8 years ago. So, I have checked all photos. If I`ve lost something - just say me. I`m not sell your photos, even I have no money from this website. Truck history is my hobby. As for me, if I see my photo or article anywhere - I`m not panic. If people want to copy my photos or texts - I know that I have made good work. I know that you`re not Russians, but Americans, and copyrights for you are more important than for us. So, one more time -SORRY. But now we have the full history of all models of American LaFrance Company. For me it is very important.

P.S. The history has no authors...
