That is a extrodinary picture of the 41 ALF JOX.....I am drolling over it, wishing moreso that I could have gotten it.  Oh well, I do get the ladders.  That is something.  The members of #1 did remove the light/siren from above the windshield before selling it...

That video is really amazing.  I have been setting here enjoying all the footage, but to watch that ALF JOX leave a station, as well as the Ahrens Fox and the older tiller truck really was GREAT!!!!!  Thanks for sharing.

Here is a photograph from April 16, 1967, of the 41 ALF JOX on Market Street in Kittanning in action at the Isaly's Fire.  The entire building was a loss, as well as a portion of the building to the left, which is not in the photo.  I am sure many remember their hometown Isaly's Store!!!  Photo from my collection, taken by reporter from The Leader Times.

Beautiful photo!   What happened to Isaly's?  I swear I saw a commerical for one only a week ago, I think there's still an Isaly's in Beckley or Charleston.  Fayetteville hasn't had an Isaly's in......oh I'd say the 1940s, not long after Kroger came in.

The name was purchased by Delicatessen Distributing Incorporated of Evans City, Pennsylvania.  They market the original quality luncheon meats, cheeses and sauces under the Isaly name in western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio.   They also  offer Isaly brand ice cream to stores in Western Pennsylvania.

There are two Isaly's still in operation in southwestern Pennsylvania in the areas of West View, and Allegheny East (city neighborhood of Pittsburgh), both retaining most of the classic interior.  I know you can purchase their chipped choppped ham and BBQ sauce at area Foodland grocery stores in Western Pennsylvania.  I did find they have a website at http://www.isalys.com/...  Lots of information about the store and product.

Isn't there a few still in operation in the South Hills?  Either along West Liberty Avenue, or maybe Mt. Washington/ Arlington?  I seem to remember one or two around those areas.

Thanks for the update, Kittanninghistory!  Perhaps that's why I keep seeing Isaly's commercials, perhace the Oak Hill Foodland sells their chipped chopped ham (interesting name) and BBQ sauce.

I am not sure as to how many Isaly's there might be.  There website does list stores by state that sells their product.  I remember getting some buns, chipped chopped ham and their mild BBQ sauce and heating up the ham and sauce and making sandwiches......mmmmmm good!!!

Now that sounds good, especially on a day where the temperature and humidity level makes it seem as if I'm in Mississippi.

Here's a rig I used to own:

Does anyone know who actually owns this truck now?  Does it still exist?  I'd love to have the chance to own it someday should the event arise!!!!

Another photo of a JOX from the web on flickr
Caption states location Huff's Corners, Ontario

Another photo I do not recall seeing

Info and photos of the mill creek truck

Can anyone tell what the tire rim bolted to the side of this truck may have been used as? Or is it just a spare without a tire on it, but what would the point be with no tire?

This was owned by Red Baron Antiques in Atlanta years ago.  Before that, it served as Ladder 169 in Allegany, NY.  It may have originally belonged to Olean, NY, but I have never confirmed that.  Allegany is just west of Olean. (pronounced "Ol-ee-an", not "O-leen"!)
