Here's an opposite view of the same truck, taken by Dick Adelman at a conference in Cleveland, OH on 7/10/92.  As you can see it had hinged doors on one side and rollups on the other.

Having never been sold, I believe this is the one that is still part of the ALF collection.  I saw it on a plant visit in 1999.

Last I heard, it was at their SC facility sitting in their "graveyard" of sorts.

No, I'm pretty sure that's a 1993 American LaFrance. I love the new body style on those American Ford LaFrance engines!

The ironic thing is that the department photographed (North Collins) had a Patriot. North Collins is about 30 miles from Williamsville.

The Patriot pictured from Schuylkill Haven was destroyed in a fire in the company's engine room on 9/12/2007.  The carcass of the rig is now sitting in a surplus vehicle storage area off Interstate 81 north of Harrisburg, PA.

The following link provides pictures as well as a description of the incident and aftermath...

That's terrible.  At least no one was hurt or killed.  Though I think the loss of the Eagle sitting next to the Patriot was more of a tragedy, LOL.  The Patriot is almost like the Quantum, so ugly it's kinda cute.  Is the Patriot a split-tilt?  It kinda looks that way on Dave's photos.
