This gong is similar to the one that BS918 posted a couple of years back. This one is also a Gamewell with a 15" bell. This piece sold on eBay for $2650 a few months back. Like many of the other prices I've seen on Internet auctions in the last year, this one seems to be on the low side.

Is there someone who is reproducing the Gamewell tags for these house gongs?
Thanks-

I picked up a new brass tag from a friend. I took some of the photos of the 6" house gongs, and took my 6" turtle to my local amish cabinet maker. He produced an oak cabinet that I mounted the bell in. To anyone that knows anything about the gongs, it is obviously a reproduction. But let me tell you first hand, how much better the bell sounds mounted in a cabinet on the wall. I suppose it is the same as mounting a speaker in an enclosure. I am waiting for my wife to go on a day trip so I can make it into my doorbell, (obviously, with the correct wiring). I have to get the small brass screws and mount the new Gamewell tag now.

This is a very nice original Gamewell fire alarm indicator with the rarely found turnout bell. One number tape is damaged.
Unit displays well in original finish and bell operates.
ebay image $6,500.00 (no bids)
