The town of Scituate, Rhode Island takes their Fire Alarm system very seriously! Just look at Alarm 29, their repair rig!!
Here is their web site...

Since many fire departments maintain their own alarm systems they had work vehicles for the fire alarm telegraph work crews.
In this topic I would like to show photos of a few of those vehicles.
The beauty below is a post card view of a 1912 Mack for the FDNY.

This 1928 GMC rig for the Cincinnati Fire Alarm Telegraph Corps was constructed by the Kelly Auto Body Company of the Queen City.

Cincinnati OH
1916 U. S. Motor Truck
A reel of cable is being loaded onto the truck which was on the CFD roster from 1916-1928. U.S. Motor Truck was located in Cincinnati but only sold this one vehicle to the fire department.

Found this in the collection, thought you all would enjoy ! This photo was taken at a parade, location unknown,of West Haven,Ct. F.D. Fire Alarm Service truck. The photo was taken in the late "40's of what appears to be a 1941 Chevrolet.Chevy at that time sold this model with the open sides for local vendors and was refered to as a huckster wagon. It is equipped with a SMALL siren and a single red light mounted above the grill, topped off with an extension ladder on the roof.An unusual addition is the small trailer probably developed for war time.It is equipped with small diameter suction hose,1 1/2" and 2 1/2" hose. Also visible is a smooth-bore nozzle an I think an acetylene tank.

New York operated this 1933 Studebaker in the Bureau of Fire Alarm Telegraph. The truck is pictured in front of Engine 292/Rescue 4's quarters in Queens.
