Working steamers
« on: April 22, 2006, 09:09:58 PM »
The largest gathering of steamers that I have ever seen assembled in San Francisco for the 100th anniversary of the 1906 earthquake and fire. 10 in all. What a great sight to see and here multiple steamers pumping and supplying a water tower.

This fascinating photo shows a steam pumper working in April of 1906 as the fire rapidly approaches.
