Fire Damages Rental
Story from the Youngstown Vindicator on 9/06/2005.

YOUNGSTOWN — Two residents safely made it out of a rental home at 725 Sherwood Ave. after a fire broke out. The flames damaged the second floor and attic, firefighters said. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage was estimated at $6,000.

Story from the WKBN TV27 Web Site on 9/06/2005.

An elderly couple loses everything, after fire rips through their home in Youngstown.

Firefighters were called to Sherwood just after 7 o'clock this morning.

Authorities say the fire started in an upstairs apartment. It's been ruled a suspicious fire and arson investigators are looking into it.

One firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation. The Red cross is assisting the family.

In Youngstown.investigators say a fire that left an elderly couple homeless WAS intentionally set.

Flames broke out Monday morning at the home on Sherwood. Officials say they DO have a suspect, but no charges have yet been filed.

A five-thousand dollar reward is being offered for tips leading to an arrest and conviction. One firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, and The Red Cross is assisting the family.
