So what's it like over there???
« on: June 25, 2002, 11:18:14 PM »
Just wondering what Youngstown is like...is it a large city?? What kinds of stuff is there to do? What is YFD's call volume like?? I am just curious; wondering if Youngstown life is anything like Indianapolis life.  :) I'm trying to forget the fact that I am totally bored with my current life and place of residence. ;D

Youngstown's population is currently 84,000 according to the most recent Census.  as for call volume they usually get one working fire every couple of days and probably about 100 alarm drops a day (ok, maybe I'm exagerating on that, it just seems like that many.) You can check out the Youngstown Fire Call Forum for a good idea of the call volume and what they run on. We try and post as many runs as we can there. Youngstown has alot of run down and vacant buildings so it makes for some spectacular fires from time to time.
