YFD Retirement Organization
« on: October 11, 2002, 08:02:44 AM »
I saw a retired YFD captain on the boards and it just made me wonder if the YFD has an organization for retired members. Such an organization would definetly benefit the members and would help brothers stay in touch with each other, because, as our retired captain has shown, there are YFD firefighters all over the country.

Are retired members still eligible to be a part of the Union?

There is a Police and Fire Retirees group that meets. They pass along health and welfare information about other retirees and discuss items regarding their retirment benefits and pensions. I've meet with the group on a couple of occasions. I know that Phil 'Micky' McGuire is active with the group. They met at the clubhouse at the apartments over in Cornersburg, of which the name escapes me.
