Hey Everyone,
Youngstown Fire responded to a building collapse at a tire shop. This was possibly due to storm damage. Lots of trees and wires down in area. Some areas without power. Dean Street has multi trees/wires down. All YFD companies are operating within the city. No reports of structure fires at this time. This is on going from earlier this am. Crews making lists of all damaged areas.

Lots of trees down on the East side. I'll be compiling a list of calls that happened during the storm. We never lost power at our place and unfortunately our garage is still standing
HAHAHA. More storms are expeced for the area tonight and throughout the day tomorrow. I'll get more information as it becomes available, also check the main page of youngstownfire.com for more news reports about the storm.

I spoke with a friend of mine who is a 911 supervisor for Youngstown ... she said that the center was a massive chaos when all this went down.
The collapse was due to a confirmed F1 tornado that hit that side of Youngstown. This was confirmed by the NWS.
Amateur Radio Operators where called into service as a result of the damage on that side of town to work with EMA and the Damage Assesment Team.
Unfotunately, all this decided to hit when I was covering a vacation with my employer, and I missed the whole thing ... Oh well, maybe next time.

Well It happened again, last night YFD responded to several wire down calls. There were also multi calls for water rescue, due to people trapped in cars. There was a fully involved structure fire @ Andrews Metals. Engine 7 became stuck in flood waters near the scene. There was no access to the scene, and fire was put out w/master streams. The building was a loss. Another busy night in Y-Town

I have'nt heard about Engine 7 so far. It was stuck in some serious flood water, while enroute to the fire. Hopefully it's still in service, but I would'nt be surprised if it takes a trip to the shop
