Yours Truly in Vindicator with Chief Inspector Hubert Clardy

At what I think is the 1990 YFD Station 1 Open House, I went down with my mom and was photographed by Patricia Schaeffer of the Vindicator (now thier chief crime reporter) going through the "smoke house" with YFD Chief Inspector Hubert Clardy. Several weeks later, Inspector Clardy visited St. Edwards school with the newly minted Engine 7. I, of course, was the one who got to sit in the front seat and put the gear on. hehe
The caption reads, "Where there's smoke, there's probably fire, and that's time to leave a room in a hurry. Joe Lowry, 8, of 233 W. Dennick Ave. learns how to crawl safely out of a smoke-filled room with help from Youngstown Fire Inspector Hubert D. Clardy Jr. The demonstration was held during an open house at Youngstown Fire Station No. 1 downtown Saturday to mark Fire Prevention Week this week."
