Dennis Fire Trucks of England
« on: June 16, 2003, 08:47:12 PM »
:D Hi, I'm a newbie here, a real probie I guess.  Used to be a Vol. firefighter in my younger days, now I just love Fire Trucks from a distance.  I have a question for the powers that be.  Is there no interest in Fire Trucks made outside of the good old U.S. of A.?  Don't get me wrong and think I don't appreciate what's made here, because I think most of them are great, but I do have one favorite, from England.  Especialy the older ones.  I love those old Dennis Fire Trucks.  There is just something about them.  Why, they even made a Firefighters Canteen truck to send to the fires so that the Firefighters would not miss out at Tea Time.  Now how can you beat that.  Or how about making a special narrower Fire Truck just so it will fit through the narrow back-country roads in the rural English countryside.  I bet a lot of little country Hamlets appreciated that one. I sure would love to see a section on the Dennis Fire Trucks of England.  Go Ahead, call me a Torrie if you want to, I don't care.
LOL.

                  Norm.

Norm, I also have a real love of many European fire trucks, including Dennis and Scania, which I saw when I  lived in Ireland for several months last fall. You will see several of them in the Foriegn Fire Apparatus Thread, which is under the forum called "Apparatus Sorted By Fire Department" If you have any other pics of English (or Irish) apparatus, please post them!
