One truck on Fire Alarms...

In light of recent station closings, the YFD has cut back the response to fire alarm activations in some commercial structures to 1 engine co. I would imagine hospitals still get 2 companies but I haven't heard one to confirm this.

So the squad or a ladder doesn't even go. That's starting to sound like us.

The squad use to run as a company to alarm drops but now it just looks like the department is running 1 engine on them.
The ladder never goes.

Did this response reduction stay in place after all of the firefighters returned to work?

Yes Steve, it is still a one-engine response. Currently, all of the engines plus Squad 33 run on fire alarms, the ladders still do not. This is a change because Squad 33 did not previously run on alarms, however, how that it has pumper characteristics, it can do so. My guess is that it might take a few alarms where the Box has to be filled for a real fire before they bring it back up to a two-engine response.
