240 hour classes
« on: June 02, 2003, 06:58:14 PM »
I was wondering if anyone had any information on the 240 hour classes. I was wondering on where I should go.  I know that Youngstown offers classes but I don't know when the next set of classes will be offered or how much they cost?  Also if anyone had any information on where to go for EMT classes tha would be great.

As for the EMT class, call Rural/Metro on Market St. They should be able to tell you where and when. They often offer them. If not there, call the YSU.

Call Howland Fire 330-856-5022 they have classes, 240 and EMT. But if you can hang in there until Youngstown offers a class do that. Everybody that I know that went to Youngstown learned more than just that book stuff they teach at Howland, yes I wish I had gone to YFD but they had no classes back then. Call them and let them know you are interested and they may make a list that way if they get so many people they can have a class even if they only hire a few. Also try YSU I know they offer some classes but they were trying to add some more. Last but not least Tri-C up in Cleveland has a class but that’s a drive from Youngstown every day.

You can always join the Air Force Reserves and let them pay for all of your training.  Might even get some veteran's preference for civil service testing if you get lucky.

Just because you have a paramedic card, doesn't mean you know how to fight fire.  It takes more than rubber gloves.
