Is it just me or does that new Metropolitian without the chromed grill give you that European feeling?  It's still a nice looking rig But the cab reminds me of the newer London Fire Brigade units.  I guess for me that's a good thing since I like those units as well.

Weatherford, OK
Engine 1
2001 ALF #1186
Diesel/automatic
1250/1000

This was the other first-generation Metropolitan sold in Oklahoma.  Note how the preconnects are under the floor of the pump panel crosswalk.  This configuration, which allows for easy loading, is fairly popular in this state.  Weatherford is very proud of their Class 3 ISO rating!

Note the differences in construction between this truck, which was built at the Casper facility (former Becker plant), and the Sulphur rig, which came from Shawano (former 3-D operation).

just for the record...the older flat faced alf metro was a commercial job---it was a freightliner road truck cab over or cab forward--probabaly the latter--and not at all a custom cab--the present rounded metro is neat coz ive seen it and its sharp

This series didn't share sheet metal with any other Freightliner product.
