YFD Spare Apparatus
« on: December 09, 2002, 09:54:04 AM »
The Youngstown Fire Department operates the following spare apparatus:

Spare Engine 1
1982 Mack MC
1500gpm pump/750gal tank

Spare Engine 2
1980/81Mack MC
1250gpm pump/ 500gal tank

Spare Engine 3
1978/96 Mack CF600
1250gpm pump/500gal tank
Refurbed in 1996 with new pump,
hose, body and tank.

As far as I know, all of these units are kept downtown at the shop. Is there any plans to move them to other stations? I know there was talk of moving SE 1 to Station 1, SE 2 to Station 2 and SE 3 to Station 3. All of these stations have the room to do so, and it would really free up the shop if the rigs were moved out. Has anyone heard of anything regarding moving these trucks out?
