......and a Class 530B by American LaFrance, give me a break....maybe Ward LaFrance.
I have sent several emails to the Heritage Foundation over the years on different subjects and have never heard back.  They also have a Class 125 Army Crash Truck and a Air Force O-6.  They probably have a lot to offer the military fire apparatus buff, if they would only respond to requests for info.

When I was in the ANG back in the early 1970s our 530B was built by Ward-LaFrance. Goodfellow AFB also
has a 1942 Mack Class 125 pumper that was moved from Wright-Patterson AFB on a C-130 from the
910th Airlift Wing from Youngstown, OH. Hope that the museum has a 750A.

Bulldogboy

You are correct as they do a Mack-Mack Class 125 as seen in this link: http://www.goodfellow.af.mil/news/story.asp?storyID=123040818

Would love to see a 530A & 750A restored and preserved.

THIS IS THE FIRST I HAVE HEARD OF ANY CUT BACKS  IN THE FD

WHEN I WAS  AS A ARMY FF  INN 64  WE HAD ONLY THREE STATIONS  FOR THE ENTIRE HUGH BASE

I KNOW SOME ARMY SCHOOLS  ARE BEING RELOCATED
THEY ARE TRYING TO COMBINE  THE SAME TRAINING .

THE AIRPORT STATION IS FAIRLY NEW AND IS REQUIRED
AND IT COULD SERVE AS A EMERGENCY BACK UP FOR LOUISVILLE
AP  IF IT HAD TO CLOSE .  EVERY BASE HAS  A LARGE FAMILY HOUSING AREA   AND OF COURSE THE BASE IT SELF

AND DON'T  FORGET  SEVERE  WEATHER  THE FD IS IT FOR HAZ MAT AND USAR    AND DEPENDING THE PROBLEM OFF BASE  ASSISTANCE MY NOT BE ALLOWED .      THERE HAS BEEN TALK FOR OVER 20 YEARS OF LETTING PRIVATE CO';S PROVIDE FRF';S  INSTEAD OF  UNION DOD FIRE FIGTERS   BUT THE REQIREMENTS  TO BE HARD  WOULD BE VERY HARD  TO FILL .   SW

Truax Field today is Dane County Regional Airport, outside Madison, Wisconsin and still has a military presence in the form of the Wisconsin Air National Guard.

Thanks for that info on the former Truax Field.

The "Crash House" at Traux Field, rigs are Class 125 crash trucks.
