514th Engineer Supply Depot Fire Station, Liege, Belgium, Nov 45.  Station was operated by German POWs using Army Class 325 fire truck, Dodge Weapons Carrier and Class 1000 firefighting trailer.

Chanute AFB 2009, main firehouse (vacant). Anyone recall if they had another station out by the runways for the ARFF?

I was at Chanute AFB in 1978 for Fire Protection School. The flying mission at Chanute was gone by then. The only firehouse I recall seeing was the one in the picture. I remember all the structural and CFR rigs in an old flightline hanger that was converted for the Fire Protection School. During the aircraft CFR block, we would ride in the rigs out to the burn pits on the other side of the runway.

Thanks for the info CT. I know one hangar has several retired rigs in it that belong to the museum, not sure if they're all former Chanute or not.

You are very welcome Squad 546. The Fire Protection School made the move to Goodfellow AFB TX when Chanute AFB closed in the early 90's. I'm sure moving all that apparatus must have made for some interesting logistics. Nothing the USAF couldn't handle.

The pictured Seagrave is USA 502024 a 1942 issue Class 750 built under War Dept contract W-398-QM-13005.  There was also another Seagrave at Camp Carson during the same period USA 502034.  Both rigs departed Seagrave during September 1942.  The rig next to the Seagrave is a 1946 Mack Class 750.
 Information from:
Ted Heinbuch
Camp Carson became Fort Carson in 1954

Wonderful interior view of Fire Station N0 3, Camp Devens, MA, December 1918.  On the rear wall can be seen a list of the telephone fire boxes and the stations that responded to each along with the companies that would cover the empty fire stations upon receipt of alarm.  Station gong and landline telephone bell can also be seen.  Rigs are 1917 Ford-Howe 400 gpm pumpers.  Great looking QMC fire helmets and rain slickers.

Fire Station No. 2 at Fort Brooke, Puerto Rico, US Army, 1940s.  Rig is a Class 750 American LaFrance and yes, there is a brass pole from the living quarters to the apparatus floor.

Looks more like a vacation home on a Florida beach than a fire station. I've worked in and seen many military fire stations over the years. This one ranks as an odd ball. Thanks for posting.

The DoD Fire Academy located at Goodfellow AFB TX has a few older rigs on perminate outside display. They all came from different USAF bases. It's interesting to see the evolution of rigs as the years pass by.

That's a nice collection, but their captions are a bit slim on info.  For example, the Telesqurt served Robins AFB after several years at Kelly AFB, TX.  It was originally painted red with a large white "3" on it.  Built by Pierce in 1972, it has a 1000 GPM pump and carries 200 gallons of water.  It was replaced around 1994 and was transferred to the museum soon after.  Technically, it is not a P-12 as they state.  They also put an extra "b" in Robins........

Perhaps they need an apparatus buff on their staff!  :)
