Hello guys and gals,

    Kevin Lackey here from Memphis, Tn. Im a 22 year old fire photoghapher in the process of getting my EMT cert so I can proceed to get on Memphis FD here.  I am the son and grandson of 2  25-30 yr Lts, also my mom works at the MFD Shop so firefighting comes as second nature to me. I am currently a member of the Mid-South SPAAMFAA chapter, IFBA and IFPA.

   Im in the process of writing a book on the History of the Memphis FD. With hopes that this book will turn out a little more descriptive than any other history book on MFD. I have various interests such as Peter Pirsch apparatus as well as Sedan cab pumpers such as Mack B and L models and Pirschs. I have a vast collection of fire fighting memoribila that dates as far back as the 1880s and  I like to read up on other depts and see how they operate differently and see what can be learned from them as well as looking at their history's.

   I would like to say that I find this site to be very entertaining and enjoyable to read through.

Let me be the first to welcome you to the boards Kevin! I'm glad you find the site entertaining and enjoyable. We're all pretty friendly here and this is a relaxed laid back board. We have a grst variety of people here with varying interests so don't hesitate to ask questions or post anything fire related you want! If you don't know what category to post it in, drop me a mail and we'll figure it out or make a new category (just watch out if you start a new category, you may find yourself as a moderator The board is funny that way) Well, it's good to have you here and hollar if you have any questions or problems!
