Sanfordtown V.F.D. evolved into the Southern Hills F.D. The Southern Hills V.F.D. protected several communities in Kenton County including Edgewood. The Southern Hills F.D. became the City of Edgewood F.D. on July 1, 1996.

When this pumper was restored it was decided that the original Sanfordtown lettering would be used. The Sanfordtown V.F.D. station is still standing, but due to annexation the structure is located in the City of Ft. Wright., not Edgewood!

This 1960 or so GMC/Boyer was sold by Midwest Fire & Safety to Corydon, Indiana. The wrap around hard suction is something that isn't seen on Boyer rigs that often (especially by the 60's!) and the covered booster reels are a little different too.
