The HMRT is from working in the Haz Mat industry for almost 30 years.  This was a profession in the private sector and member of my departments HM team through the 80's & early 90's.  I ran the COunty's HM team for about 8 years up here and am now back in the private sector at large manufacturing facility with its own Fire/EMS/Haz Mat Team.  Bill is my first name so HMRTbill.

Mine is simple as well.  I cut my teeth riding on a truck company.  Love the truck work.  Those in the firehouse that were not assigned to the truck (i.e. engine trash) referred to us as "truck dogs" and "truck slugs".  I prefer truckhound, hence the name.

I live in Birmingham, AL.  In the early 1900s Birmingham grew so fast it was said that it grew like "magic".  It is now sometimes known as the "Magic City."  And my name is... you guessed it...Bill.

It had 20 fire stations by 1920 and was motorized by 1916.
