The Pirsch above is a 1975 year.  It began life with Montgomery Community Fire Co, as Engine 6.  It was originally an open cab in the rear.  We built the enclosure at the firehouse over a matter of months.  When it was done, it was dubbed  the "Vista Cruiser".  I often wondered what happened to it after the Co. disbanded.  Steve,  you got any other photos?   Dave

Hi Dave,

Here is the Pirsch after the rehab by Montgomery.

Montgomery, Ohio   Engine 6
1975 Pirsch/1987 MFD Rehab
1250 GPM - 750 Tank
Pirsch #3180

For some reason the "before" photo has wandered off.

Steve

Thank you Steve.  I understand about how photos wander off.  I had a complete set of the M.C.F.C equipment, but I put it in such a safe place I cant find it.  I left before the Co. disbanded, so I did not know where the equipment went that Sycamore and Montgomery (city) did not take.  It was really neat to see E-6 again.  Dave

There are two Chevrolet ex-fire apparatus parked behind the fence near West 3rd and Mahoning in Cleveland, Ohio. They are numbered 162 and 165, the rig marked 162 actually had it's fire bodywork on it a few years ago when I worked for the railroad. You could see the rig from one of the industries we used to work, but I never went down when I wasn't working to get photos of it. This was taken on my vacation earlier this year and while the front mount pump and rotating light are still in place on 162, the bodywork is gone. I had never noticed the rig marked 165, which is a bit older, but it looks like it's been rotting away for longer then 162 has.

Just posting an update on these rigs, both of them are gone, as is the box truck seen in the photos. I did a quick search of the area but was unable to locate the rigs.

Don't fear though, I'm still looking for other forgotten fire apparatus while on vacation in Cleveland.

This is something a little different. I was looking at Detroit satellite views and spotted an old snorkel close to downtown. using Google streetview got a somewhat better look at it. All I can tell is that it's a GMC chassis, it's definitely not the old snorkel DFD had in the 1970s. I would guess it belongs to a construction company, there's other equipment parked in the  lot.

Branchport, NY had this Ward LaFrance Ambassador behind their station a few years ago with a for sale sign in the window. Don't know where it went.

Belmont, NY ran out of room in their station for these two rigs. Unknown if they are still in service but they both sit in the parking lot they share with the highway department. A Pierce/Dodge mini and a Chevy van they used for manpower calls.

This rig is really along the road.  Taken on southbound I-71 in metro Cleveland on August 18, 2009.  Looks to be a mid-1950's GMC/American which is believed to be from Vermillion, Ohio.  Information and photo by Harold Hoenigman.

The last piece was a Rescue that originally saw service in Anne Arundel County Md.  It is a Pem-Fab Ranger.  It was sold to Baltimore City to run as a back up rescue to their back up rescue.  Needless to say it saw alot of service.  Also on the lot is 2 other Baltimore pieces and a lime colored Pierce that I can't believe is in a junk yard
