From the WFMJ TV 21 Web Site on 4/6/2004...
Austintown Safety Forces Called Back
Austintown's safety forces are getting more backup.
Township trustees have agreed to call back two
laid-off police officers and seven part-time firefighters.
Trustees got the money to rehire laid-off safety forces by not replacing retired workers.
The police department says it is still short by five people.
Hey Austintown, maybe you can put one of those rehired people on the 911 phone so there will always be someone to cover when the only call taker has to go to the bathroom!!

What they don't tell you, the police officers they hired back where hired because the Police Chief is on Military Leave. Since they don't have to pay the Chief his salary and benefits, they recalled the two officers .... how nice .. so what happens when the Chief comes back home?
??
Hmmm?
?
Anyone think about that one?
