Were these the ones that were very unpopular with the LFD or was it the Internationals?

Engine 1844, Sale Creek, TN
1984 Ford C-8000/American LaFrance "Rebel"
1000/500

x-Bluefield, WV

This apparatus was the prototype (and only example) of the proposed Rebel modular-body pumper.  It was constructed at Elmira, NY in 1985 and moved to Bluefield, VA where it was completed.  It was later sold to Bluefield, WV in 1986.

I suspect this is a factory photo of that rig, before final modifications were made:

I don't believe this rig actually served the City of Dillon.  I think it went to a VFD near there.  I visited Dillon many years ago and asked about this rig and the guys there said they had never had anything like that.  Dillon's fleet was/is painted red.

I wondered that myself; I've been to Dillon a couple of times, and there were no lime green rigs around.

Jack's town/city listings were occasionally that of where a certain department or fire company was located (mailing address in the truck's paperwork), not the actual name of the agency that owned it.

this rig was most likely from Dillon County, SC.  Dillon County runs lime green rigs and their Headquarters is in Dillon.

Jackson, TN
1979 Ford/ALF #6234
60/200/65'
Diesel/?

I think this is the one that was remounted by Pierce (on a Dash chassis) a few years ago:

http://www.cityofjackson.net/departments/fire/locations.html

Sandusky, OH
1980 Ford/ALF #6840
1000/300/85'
Diesel/?
Snorkel 23

Can anyone here give us a definitive answer to the following queries:
Who is "EEC?"
Why is the engine marked "1984"...was this girl repowered and/or refurbished in 1984?
