The Branchville Ford / American was American job # 2531,
it was equipped with a 1000gpm pump and a 300gal. tank.
It wore many "coats" during it's service.

Although you may have seen this truck before I thought I would post of picture of my 1953 GMC based American Fire Apparatus.  This truck was previously in service at Green Camp OH.  The truck is still mostly original and still drives and pumps well. - Bob

Toronto had three Americans, the first was a 1949 International
open cab with an overhead ladder rack, 500 gpm midship pump and 500gal. tank.
                                            American "job number" 999.

One of the nicest looking fire trucks in my opinion is this 1949 IHC/American, Despite the fear that it was lost to time I was recently able to locate and obtain the beauty. And of course the only appropriate person to photograph an American is Bob Lloyd.

I have always thought that any rig that is designed like the '49 International/American is really well designed - - even if the standard
24-foot ladder set is mounted on the side, aother (Bangor) can be stowed atop the apparatus -- the '49 gets my "It doesn't get any better than this" award.

195? International R180/American
The truck was photographed near Hutto, TX. The receptionist did not know anything about the truck. It has a Barton American pump in the 500 GPM range. I could not find anything in the truck that may indicate the previous owner other than an ID of Unit 672 which is the needle in the haystack. Maybe someone here knows something more about the truck.
