American Fire Apparatus built some Intra-Cab style apparatus on their "custom" chassis in the 1970's.  Although the cahssis aren't identified as such, they appear to be built by Oshkosh.

This rig was sold as the Century 21 custom by American Fire Apparatus.  Built on an Oshkosh A-Series custom chassis, it featured a cab built by TCM of Cincinnati, OH.  The Intra-cab pump was introduced by them in the early 1970's.

This was my most favorite engine when I was a young pup hanging around the West End Fire and Rescue Company fire house waiting till I could become a member.  Our company had a knack for getting used fire apparatus and fixing it up using it and then selling it for a profit.  The company was formed in October of 1955 and we didn't get our first "brand new" piece until August of 1973.

1954 GMC Barton-American engine. 200 horsepower G. M. C. 503 cu. Inch engine, 750 g.p.m. two stage pump, 400 gallon booster tank and Barton super fog equipment with electric rewind reels. On January 20, 1969 company members voted to purchase this engine at a special meeting.  It was purchased from the Berwyn Heights Fire Department in Maryland for $2,000.00. The engine was to be delivered to Shippensburg February 15, 1969. The engine was painted red when acquired and only minor changes were made to the lettering by West End. The engine was designated 15-4, and to be used for borough fire alarms. The engine was housed temporarily at the C. V. Hose Company because the West End did not have room in their present quarters. In November 1972 the company sold the engine to the Panama Fire Equipment Company for $5,000.00.

As a side note it was our first truck to have a roto-ray!
