Baltimore City Fire Dept., 1941 AmLaFr Rescue 1. Steve, your above BCFD Eng 32 is a 1940 x-USN rig.  It was purchased by the city as government surplus and placed in service in June 1945.

Hi,

First, welcome to the Youngtown Fire Message Boards!  I hope that you'll wander through the site and post comments and photos!  The more that is posted the more folks enjoy this (at least I do).

Unfortunately there was no serial number information with the photo that I posted.

What year did they make the transfer in front nose design in the 500 & 600 series trucks?

Does anyone recognize/have any information on this 1000 GPM ALF 500 Quad? I might assume that it is from the NE Ohio area.

Does anyone have a shot of the 1941 American LaFrance 100 ft. TDA ran by Barren Hill fire co. Montgomery co. Pa. in the late 70's ? Barren Hill purchased it from Wildwood Nj. and ran it until they replaced it with a Mack Cf American LaFrance rear mount. Hard to find a photo of the old tiller... Thanks in advance.

Asheville, NC's only 600, a 1941 65-footer, in a "crunch" on February 18, 1949.  Repaired & returned to service, the chassis was sent to the crusher in the '70's, and the body saw service a few more years on the back of a cab-over Ford.
