Pumper/tankers on Ford CT chassis
« Reply #70 on: July 17, 2007, 02:27:50 PM »
Boardman routinely put 2,000 gallons of water on the CT-8000 chassis with the 210- (natural) and 225-hp (early version turbo) Caterpillar 636-ci 3208 Diesels.  They weren't very fast, but got the job done.  We built only one with a 2,500-gallon tank, but it had the later version 250-hp 3208T.  We also built a few 1,500- and 2,000-gallon jobs over the years with the very popular 266-hp 534-ci gas engine.

Steve,

A wonderful selection of Boardman apparatus.  There are some really unusual rigs shown here.  The Cayman Islands quint is probably the strangest, but I really like the Camp Verde tanker with the pre-connected hard suction running back over the rear wheels.  That's an arrangement that isn't seen very often.  How about more 1940's/50's vintage photos......
