1992 American Lafrance demonstrator
1500 gpm  750 gallon tank

This engine had rollup doors on one side and regular doors on the other.

Sweet!!! I believe this chassis was called the Patriot, made at the Kersey/ALF plant in Bluefield,VA. I want to say somewhere around 15-16 of these were actually built.

Haven't tried posting pics too much so I'll see how this goes.

These Engines saw heavy fire duty. Like many other old industrial cities there were many factories, loft bldgs and tenements burning in the 70's and 80's . Engine 3 in particular, along with it's sister Engine 5 were a frequent sight with their Sqrts side by side pouring water into the ruins.
Engines 7 and 8 were emergency purchases immediately after an urban conflagration in 1981 that developed into a firestorm and destroyed many downtown buildings and threatened the entire city. Engine 8 was being loaded with hose when it was dispatched to what turned out to be a fatal fire exceeding 10 alarms in a plastics factory.

This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions!
What do you mean "biblical"?
What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor. Real wrath of God type stuff! Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness, earthquakes, and volcanos! The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifices, dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!

Philadelphia Squrt 9 once operated a 1979 model which was replaced by a 1998 American La France/3D model (both with 54-foot Squrts).

Winnfield, Louisiana
ex-Wheat Ridge, Colorado
1980 American Lafrance
1500 gpm 300 gallon tank
75 foot Snorkel

This Snorkel replaced a 1950 American Lafrance 85 foot aerial that the Winnfield had purchased from Texarkana, Texas.  I wish I had a picture of it.

Hi:

I'm not sure if anybody will see this, I have a 1965 American LaFrance Pumper. I bought it from Lyons, NY., and I live in Lyons OH. I haven't seen any piuctures of a 1965 American LaFrance Pumper. I'm told mine is a 900 series. I'll try to attach a picture. If anybody has one, or knows somebody with one, or has any info on this, could you please write
