This is a classic example of  Memphis Fire Dept !!!!!!

 Headquarters ' The Rock '
 65 S Front St
Each bay door had its own address.

Companies that has been housed here

 Engine 5, 9
 Truck 1
 Snorkel 1
 Snorkel 2
 High Pressure 1
 Water Tower

Engine 9 Truck 1 Snorkel 1 Snorkel 2 and the  Water Tower are out of service

This building was torn down in the mid 1960s and the new headquarters was built

 Companies presently housed are

 Engine 5
 Rescue 2
 Museum pumper

I will post a photo of the current headquaters later on

My grandfather was assigned here from 1951 until 1969 on Truck 1 and Snorkel 1

I really like the neon sign over the doors at Harriman.  A Ward Lafrance and a Ferrara occupy the front ramp.

That's preety cool Steve!

Harriman was one of the towns I stopped at.  Albeit for dinner and trains.  I spent the night here and then headed north.  Wish I would have taken the time to stop at the fire house.

Union Army Fire Station at Chattanooga, TN, about 1864.  National Archives Photo.
Steve I believe the pix you posted of the US Warehouse in Chattanooga was also a Union Army fire station.  The Union Army did maintain a company of fire fighters that traveled with the Army repairing and operating Confederate fire apparatus.
