Arlington Opens New $1.6 Million Fire Station No. 4
------------------------------------------------
The original Fire Station No. 4 was built in 1957 as Sub-Station No. 3. In March 2008, construction of a new $1.6 million structure started. The rebuild of Fire Station No. 4 more than tripled the size of the station from 2,400 to 7,438 square feet, increasing opportunities for meeting current and future public safety service needs. The new station has three engine bays, six individual sleeping quarters, two rest room facilities, a fitness room and additional storage rooms. A front entrance community service room has been designed to improve walk-in public assistance. A four-member crew consisting of one lieutenant, one apparatus operator and two firefighters are assigned to each of the three 24-hour shifts at this station.
